We cut these sweatpants with an arched outer seam that builds volume through the thigh before tapering back toward the ankle. The mid-weight cotton fleece holds that rounded shape without collapsing. An elastic waistband with an exterior tie cord sits flat across the hips.

• Curved barrel leg. The leg bows outward through the knee and narrows gently at the hem. This shape leaves plenty of room through the seat and thighs while keeping the cuff clear of the floor.
• Elastic drawstring waist. We gathered the top over a wide band of elastic and ran a flat cord through the front. It stays put when you sit and does not pinch across the middle.
• Contrast side piping. A clean strip of contrast trim runs the length of the outer leg seam. It defines the curve of the barrel cut and gives the fleece a neat, structured line.
• Flower gray knit. The heathered knit combines cotton and polyester for warmth and shape retention. Wash cold with like colours and tumble dry low to keep the fleece interior soft.
