We cut these palazzo trousers wide through the hip and leg so the woven plaid hangs straight without catching. The linen blend is light, washed for softness, and set with an elastic waistband and drawstring tie. Dropped side pockets add room without pulling on the waist seam.

High elastic waistband. The waistband uses an encased elastic channel with an adjustable front tie. It sits high on the waist, holding firmly without pressing into the hips as you move through the day.
Palazzo leg shape. We gave the legs full palazzo volume from the top of the thigh down to the cuff. The cut lets air move freely, while the weight of the fabric pulls the wide opening down smoothly.
Dropped side pockets. Deep side pockets sit slightly below the hip line. Cutting them lower keeps the pocket bags flat against the leg so carrying small items does not disrupt the drape of the plaid.
Washing the linen blend. Wash by hand or on a gentle machine cycle in warm water. Skip the dryer and hang the pants on a line so the linen fibers settle and soften naturally after each wash.
