We cut these palazzo pants loose through the thigh and straight down to a wide cuff. The linen blend is light, airy, and patterned in black and white stripes mixed with small gingham checks. An elastic waist with a tie keeps the rise sitting where you want it.

• Wide palazzo leg. The cut drops wide from the hips without tapering inward. The fabric hangs straight to the hem, catching enough air to keep the legs moving freely as you walk.
• Elastic tie waist. We gathered the top edge with an elastic band and threaded a self-fabric drawstring through the front. It pulls tight or sits loose without digging.
• Dropped side pockets. The pockets sit deep on the side seams. We dropped them low enough so a phone or set of keys stays put inside the volume of the leg.
