We cut these loose trousers with a wide barrel leg that arcs out through the thigh and draws back in slightly near the hem. The lightweight linen blend keeps the air moving on warm days. A soft elastic waistband adjusts with a self-fabric drawstring so the rise sits where you want it.

• Barrel leg shape. The volume swells through the mid-leg before tapering toward the cropped hem. That curve gives the fabric room to drape and swing without dragging on the ground when you walk.
• Yellow patchwork stripe. We pieced together yellow and white stripes across the panels to break up the pattern. The linen weave shows through the pale ground, which softens with every wash.
• Gathered drawstring waist. An elastic channel wraps the top so the trousers pull on quickly. The matching flat cord lets you cinch the waist down or wear it resting lower on the hip.
