We cut this pair with volume through the thigh that gently tapers back toward the cropped ankle hem. The light green and white vertical stripe runs down an open linen-blend weave that softens with wash and wear. An elastic waistband with a matching drawstring keeps the midsection loose and easy to adjust.

Barrel leg cut. The pattern bells out through the calf and pulls inward at the lower hem. This keeps the shape round and airy around the leg without dragging on the ground when you walk.
Striped linen blend. We used a lightweight linen-blend cloth woven with soft green and off-white yarn. The weave lets hot air pass through while retaining enough body to support the wide, bowed silhouette.
