We cut these lounge pants from a soft knit that hangs with a clean drape. The leg bows out through the thigh and calf before tapering toward the ankle, keeping the shape loose and away from the skin. An elastic drawstring waistband anchors the top without tight pressure.

Barrel leg shape. The pattern curves wide through the leg and narrows slightly at the hem. This keeps the volume off your shoes while leaving generous room through the knee and calf.
Elastic drawstring waistband. We gathered the top with a wide elastic band and threaded a working drawcord through the front. It sits flat against the waist and adjusts to where you prefer the rise.
Soft striped knit. The gray and pink stripe is knitted directly into the yardage for a supple hand. The fabric has enough weight to hold the barrel curve without feeling stiff or heavy.
Washing and care. Wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors to keep the knit soft. Tumble dry on low heat or hang them up to air dry without pulling the seams.
