We cut these lounge pants from a soft knit that hangs with a gentle weight. The barrel leg curves outward through the thigh and tapers slightly toward the hem, giving the cut room to move without dragging. A drawstring waistband keeps the fit settled where you pull it.

• Barrel leg shape. The pattern curves out along the outer seam and comes back in near the ankle. That extra volume sits through the knee so the fabric moves freely as you walk.
• Drawstring waistband. We set a wide elastic core into the waist and ran a flat pull cord through the center. You can tie it snug or let it sit low across the hips.
