We cut these everyday trousers from soft textured corduroy that holds warmth when the weather turns cool. A high-rise waist leads into front pleats and a relaxed tapered leg that narrows down toward the ankles. The hems are finished with rolled plaid cuffs to anchor the lower line.

• High rise and pleats. We set the waistband high and built deep pleats directly into the front. This gives the hips and seat extra room to settle naturally without pulling across the front when you sit or walk.
• Loose tapered leg. The cut stays loose through the thighs before tapering down toward the hem. It gives you the easy ease of a harem silhouette while keeping the lower leg clean and out of the way of your boots.
• Turned plaid cuffs. We lined the cuffs with a contrasting plaid fabric that shows when turned up. The rolled hem adds weight to the bottom of the leg, helping the corduroy fall straight rather than bunching around the ankles.
• Corduroy care. Machine wash cold with like colors to keep the brown corduroy ribs soft. Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry on a line. Use a low iron on the reverse side if the wales need smoothing.
