We cut these with an open barrel curve that bows outward through the thigh and comes back in toward the hem. The black and white gingham print gives the linen a patchwork character without adding bulk to the seams. It is a light weave built to move easily in warm air.

• Barrel leg cut. The leg bows out wide along the outer seam and narrows slightly at the hem. That curve keeps the volume suspended away from the knee so the fabric hangs with structure rather than collapsing straight down.
• Drawstring waistband. We set a simple drawstring into the waistband so you can adjust the gather directly. It sits flat against the waist without stiff hardware, letting the gathered linen take its natural drape.
• Patchwork gingham print. The black and white plaid shifts across the panels to break up the surface. It is printed onto a light linen blend that softens after washing while keeping its dry hand and open weave.
