We cut these wide-leg trousers from light linen that vents heat and softens with wear. Dark coffee gives the open weave a solid, grounded tone, while vertical lace panels run down the legs to break up the volume. The high elastic waist pulls on without hardware.

• Elastic high waistband. The waistband uses a wide internal elastic band that sits high on the waist. It stays flat against the body, pulls on directly, and holds its position without gathering too tightly.
• Lace panel inserts. Vertical lace panels are stitched along the outer legs. The openwork lets air move through the leg line and balances the weight of the dark coffee fabric.
• Wide-leg cut. We gave these a full palazzo cut that falls straight from the hip down to the hem. The linen cloth drops under its own weight, keeping the shape loose and open.
