We cut these wide-leg pants from lightweight linen in an orange red shade, adding contrast side panels that run straight to the hem. The elastic waistband pulls on and adjusts with an outer drawstring cord. Deep side pockets sit flat against the hip without breaking the line of the leg.

• Elastic drawstring waist. The waistband houses a wide band of elastic and an external fabric tie. You can cinch it high or let it sit lower on the hips without binding.
• Wide straight leg. We gave the legs full volume from the seat straight down to the hem. The open linen weave vents heat and moves easily as you walk.
• Side contrast panels. Vertical contrast stripes are sewn down the outer leg seams. The detail adds a clean graphic line that balances the broad cut of the trousers.
