We cut these cropped pants with a relaxed barrel leg and finish the lower edge with a band of open lace. The lightweight linen and rayon blend stays loose through the thigh and hangs clear of the ankle. An elastic waistband with a matching drawstring keeps the high rise anchored without pinching.

• Lace hem band. The lower cuff carries an inset band of open lace that lets air through around the calf. It weights the wide hem slightly so the cropped leg holds its curved barrel line while you walk.
