We cut these cropped pants with a wide, easy leg and finish the lower edge with a band of open lace. The linen and rayon weave is light, soft, and loose enough to let warm air pass through. An elastic waistband with an adjustable cord settles high on the waist without binding.

• Lace hem band. The lower hem is finished with a strip of open lace that sits well above the ankle. It adds a bit of weight to the bottom edge so the wide leg hangs straight down instead of catching against the calves.
• Elastic and cord waist. The high waistband uses wide inner elastic that gathers softly against the skin. We threaded a matching cord through the front casing so you can cinch the waist tight or leave it relaxed.
• Deep side pockets. Two inset pockets sit along the side seams, cut deep enough to hold keys or a small purse. They lie flat against the hip when empty and do not bunch up the linen.
