We cut these shorts with the wide volume and tiered hem of an A-line skirt. The linen blend stays light and lets warm air out. An elastic casing at the waist pairs with a front tie so the rise sits where you want it. Side pockets rest flat along the hips.

• Tiered skirt cut. The wide leg openings are layered with gathers to hang like a full skirt. You get the stride of a short with the sweep of an open hem that moves freely as you walk.
