We cut this piece with the volume of a gathered skirt and the inner freedom of a wide-leg short. The linen blend drapes into tiered ruffles that move loosely around the thighs. An elastic waistband with a self-fabric drawstring anchors the rise right where you set it. Deep side pockets stay flat under the gathers.

• Tiered skirted cut. We layered the fabric into wide ruffled tiers that break up the line and drape like an A-line skirt. Inside, the split leg allows full stride without clinging or pulling at the inner thigh.
• Elastic drawstring waistband. The waistband holds an enclosed elastic channel backed by a working drawstring. You can cinch it high on the waist or let it rest lower on the hips without losing the relaxed drape.
• Linen blend drape. We chose a lightweight linen blend in navy that breathes well and softens with each cycle through the wash. The dark dye holds depth, while the open weave vents heat on hot days.
• Wash and care. Launder on a gentle cold cycle or hand wash, then line dry in the shade to protect the navy tone. If you prefer a crisp look over natural rumpling, steam lightly across the tiers.
