We cut these loose barrel pants from a lightweight linen blend with red-and-white gingham patchwork panels across the leg. The waist pulls in with an elastic band and a matching cord drawstring. They bow out wide through the knee, then taper back down toward the ankle hem. Two deep slash pockets sit flat into the side seams.

• Barrel leg cut. The leg curves outward along the outer seam to build room through the thigh and calf, then pulls back in slightly at the lower hem. The shape stays structural without clinging to the skin.
• Drawstring waist. An elastic waistband keeps the rise settled where you set it. We threaded an adjustable fabric cord through the channel so you can knot the front without adding bulk beneath a tucked hem.
• Patchwork gingham weave. Red and white checks run in pieced panels down both legs. The linen blend stays light in warm air, venting heat through an open weave that rumples naturally and softens further with every wash cycle.
• Care and wash. Wash cold or lukewarm on a gentle cycle, or wash by hand. Hang them on a line to dry naturally. Do not run them through a hot tumble dryer, and avoid using bleach.
