We cut these loose harem pants from medium-weight corduroy printed with a muted green floral pattern. The dropped crotch sits low to keep the seat roomy, while the elastic waistband gathers the excess cloth without pinching. Slits at the side hem break the drape right above the shoes.

• Wide elastic waist. The gathered waistband pulls on easily and stays put through the day without a drawstring. We set the gathers close together so the cloth falls evenly through the hips and seat.
