We cut these loose barrel trousers from a soft, ribbed corduroy that holds warmth through cold weather. The volume bows out through the leg and tapers back in at the ankle. A wide elastic band and woven drawstring keep the mid rise seated without pinching.

• Curved barrel leg. The leg swells through the thigh and knee, then narrows down toward the hem. This shape keeps the hem off the ground while leaving plenty of room through the seat and thighs.
