We cut these palazzo pants with generous volume through the leg so the linen blend falls away from the body. The smocked waistband sits flat under a drawstring, anchored by side pockets that sit along the outer seams. A warm coffee and white plaid runs across the weave.

• Smocked drawstring waist. A wide band of smocking gathers the fabric at the top, backed by a working drawstring to adjust the tension. The elastic stretches without pinching, holding the high rise securely while keeping the front flat.
• Palazzo leg cut. The legs fall straight and wide from the hip down to the hem. That full cut gives the lightweight linen blend room to move and vent heat during warm afternoons, dropping cleanly around the ankles.
