We cut these cropped pants with a generous palazzo leg that ends above the ankle. The linen blend is light, dyed in an aqua blue that stays clear in bright sun. A drawstring waist lets you adjust the rise, and wide ruffle bands give the hem weight so the cloth swings as you move.

• Leg cut and hem. The palazzo leg opens wide from the hip down and crops at the ankle. We gathered the lower edge into a broad ruffle band with tie details, giving the hem enough weight to hold its shape.
