We cut these palazzo pants loose through the thigh and straight down to a wide split hem. The linen blend is light enough to let warm air through and heavy enough to hold its drape. An elastic waistband with a front drawstring sets where the rise sits without binding.

• Adjustable drawstring waist. We built the waistband with interior elastic and an exterior drawcord. You can tie it high on the waist or drop it lower on the hips without altering the line of the seat.
• Wide leg with split hem. The cut runs wide from the hip down through the cuff. We added small side slits at the bottom hem so the fabric breaks cleanly over flat sandals instead of bunching up around the ankles.
• Light army green linen. This linen blend is pre-washed for a soft initial hand. The muted green tone shows the natural slub texture of the weave and relaxes further as the fabric gathers soft wear creases through the day.
• Pockets and wash care. Deep slant pockets sit flat along the side seams without puffing out. Wash on a gentle cycle or by hand in lukewarm water, then hang the trousers to dry and steam out deep folds.
