We cut these with extra volume through the thigh so the linen falls straight down like a skirt. The waistband combines a wide gathered casing with a flat tie. In light blue purple, the wash takes on a soft greyed cast that softens further with regular laundering.

• Palazzo leg cut. The wide leg runs full from the hip to the hem without a taper. This gives the linen room to swing away from the body and move air as you walk.
• Gathered elastic waist. We built the waistband around a broad elastic band and threaded a matching drawcord through the front. It rests flat without pinching and holds its place when the pockets carry weight.
• Deep side pockets. The pockets are set deep into the side seams so small everyday items stay put. They sit flat against the hip when empty and do not break the line of the pleats.
• Linen wash care. Wash on a gentle cycle in cool water or wash by hand. Hang the pants to dry away from direct heat and press with a steam iron while the linen is slightly damp.
