We cut these wide-leg palazzo pants from a lightweight linen and rayon blend that softens as it is washed. The waistband uses an elastic channel anchored with an adjustable drawstring. Black linen shows the gather at the ruffle hem clearly and keeps the wide profile grounded.

• Ruffle cuff hem. We gathered the leg opening into a light ruffle rather than a standard flat hem. The extra fabric adds subtle weight at the ankle, which helps the wide leg drape straight down when you walk.
• Drawstring waistband cut. The waist combines a flexible elastic band with a flat matching tie. You can set the rise higher or lower on the hips without binding the middle. It pulls on easily and stays flat across the front.
