We cut these loose cropped palazzo pants in washed black linen blend that vents heat on warm days. The high rise settles on an elastic band with an adjustable drawstring, while the legs fall wide and end in a pieced ruffle at the ankle. Deep side pockets sit along the hip seams.

• Elastic drawstring waist. An elastic waistband holds the high rise securely without binding the midsection. The flat drawstring lets you knot the fit exactly where you want it across the hips or waist.
• Wide cropped leg. The leg panels are cut broad from the hip down, leaving plenty of space through the thigh. Pieced horizontal seams build out the flare above the ankle, finishing with a gathered ruffle hem that moves freely.
• Linen blend weave. We use a lightweight linen blend dyed in solid black. The open weave lets air pass through, wrinkles naturally with wear, and softens more with every cycle through the wash.
• Pockets and wash care. Deep inset pockets are sewn into both side seams to hold small carry items flat. Hand wash or run a gentle machine cycle below moderate heat, then hang the pants to line dry.
