We cut these palazzo pants with ample room through the seat and a straight fall down to the hem. The light brown vertical stripe runs the full length of the leg, woven into a lightweight linen blend that lets air pass through freely. An elastic waistband with an exterior tie keeps the fit easy on the hips.

• Wide palazzo leg. The leg drops wide and straight from the hip down to a clean, flat hem. This broad cut gives the linen blend space to move and sway, letting heat vent naturally on warm days.
• Adjustable drawcord waist. We built the waistband with gathered elastic that stretches easily across the midsection. A matching drawstring lets you tighten or loosen the rise depending on where you prefer the waistband to rest.
• Deep side pockets. Two inset pockets sit along the side seams, deep enough to hold a phone or keys without pulling the line of the leg out of shape.
• Fabric and care. The linen blend softens with wear while keeping its open weave. Hand wash or run on a gentle cycle, then hang dry to preserve the grain of the stripes; touch up with a steam iron.
