We cut these palazzo trousers with generous room through the thigh and leg so the fabric hangs clear of the body. The elastic waist uses a cord drawstring with tassels to set the fit. A gathered ruffle panel at the hem adds weight at the base, giving the mid coffee linen a steady swing as you move.

• Ruffle hem panel. A gathered ruffle runs around each cuff. The extra seam adds physical weight at the bottom of the wide cut, which pulls the linen straight down and keeps the hem moving around the ankles.
• Elastic drawstring waist. We built the waistband with an elastic core and set a soft tie cord through the front. You cinch it once and the band sits flat without binding or cutting in at the natural waist.
• Light linen blend. The woven linen blend is lightweight and open enough to vent warm air. It softens up as you wear it, taking on gentle folds while holding its wide palazzo shape.
• Side seam pockets. Two deep pockets sit flat along the side seams. We positioned them so small items stay put without pulling the hip line out of shape or distorting the drape of the leg.
