We cut these palazzo pants loose through the thigh and leg so the fabric hangs straight down without clinging. The high waistband combines an elastic channel with a tasselled tie to keep the fit secure. At the bottom, lace trim and a cut ruffle give the hem extra weight as you walk.

• Ruffled lace hem. We finished each leg opening with delicate lace and a gathered ruffle trim. The extra layer adds weight to the bottom of the cut, helping the wide leg swing clear of your ankles when you move.
• Drawstring elastic waistband. The high-rise waist uses an enclosed elastic band paired with an external drawstring. You can pull the tasselled cord to adjust the tension, and the wide band settles flat against your midsection without rolling.
• Lightweight linen blend. We chose a lightweight black linen blend with an open weave that lets heat escape. The fabric softens with each wash, holding enough substance to drape cleanly while remaining light on warm days.
• Side slash pockets. Two deep pockets are set into the side seams to hold small items. We stitched them flat to the interior so the palazzo silhouette stays smooth across the hip without adding unwanted bulk.
