We cut these cropped harem pants with plenty of room through the thigh and seat. The leg balloons outward into a lantern shape before drawing back in at the hem with openwork lace trim. An elastic waistband with a front tie holds the rise right where you set it.

Lantern leg shape. The pattern widens through the calf before tapering back toward the ankle. This lantern profile keeps the fabric away from the skin so air moves through the linen weave as you walk.
Lace trim hem. We set band lace along the cropped hem and across the pocket openings. The trim adds weight to the bottom of each leg, helping the linen drape rather than cling.
Elastic drawstring waist. A gathered elastic channel wraps the full waistline. We threaded a flat fabric drawstring through the front so you can adjust the tension without creating bulk under a top.
Rust linen care. Wash in cool or warm water on a gentle cycle, or wash by hand. Hang the pants to dry away from high heat to keep the lace flat and soften the linen blend over time.
