We cut these palazzo trousers from textured corduroy to trap heat through colder months. The high-rise waistband anchors deep front pleats that release straight into a baggy leg. At the bottom, a plaid cuff adds enough weight to pull the wide hem straight down over heavy boots.

• Front pleats and rise. The high rise anchors neat pleats below the waistband. They open into the thigh to give the seat room to move without pulling across the front when you sit.
