We cut these palazzo trousers from textured corduroy to bring weight and warmth into the colder months. The leg runs wide and straight from the hip down to an open hem. An elastic waistband with a matching cord keeps the top simple and flat.

• Wide leg shape. The legs drop wide from the seat down to the ankles without tapering. That room lets the corduroy ribs hang vertically and keeps the fabric from catching around your calves when you walk.
• Elastic drawstring waistband. We gathered the top onto a wide elastic channel and ran an adjustable cord through the front. It pulls on without metal hardware, zips, or buttons to press against you.
• Deep side pockets. Two inset side pockets sit along the hip seams. We made them deep enough to hold a phone, a wallet, or cold hands without pulling the waistband down.
• Textured corduroy care. The polyester corduroy holds warmth and resists crushing through daily wear. Machine wash or hand wash in cold water, skip the bleach, and dry flat in the shade to protect the pile.
