A wide, curved barrel leg cut from ribbed corduroy that holds heat when the weather turns cold. The elastic waist stays put with an adjustable drawstring, while the leg bows out through the knee before tapering in at the ankle. Panel seams give the shape structure, finished with cargo utility pockets.

• Curved barrel leg. The leg bows outward through the thigh and knee, then pulls back in near the ankle. It leaves plenty of room through the seat without dragging underfoot, supported by horizontal panel seams that hold the rounded outline.
• Ribbed corduroy cloth. We chose a medium-weight corduroy with distinct vertical ribs. The ridges trap warm air on cooler days, and the weave has enough body to keep its curved shape instead of collapsing against the leg.
• Elastic drawstring waistband. A wide elastic band sits flat around the waist without pinching. An adjustable cord runs through the inside casing, so you can tie it tighter over lighter tops or loosen it over heavy knitwear.
• Cargo utility pockets. Roomy cargo pockets sit flat against the outer leg panels along with standard hand pockets at the hips. They carry everyday items without pulling the waistband down or distorting the line of the trousers.
