We cut this cargo pant from a medium-weight ribbed corduroy that holds heat when the weather turns cold. The barrel silhouette curves through the outer leg and narrows slightly at the ankle hem. An elastic waistband with a pull cord keeps the top relaxed and easy to adjust.

• Barrel leg cut. The outer leg arcs out past the knee and tapers back down toward the ankle. Panel seams give the curved profile structure so the ribbed cloth holds its rounded shape while you walk.
• Corduroy cloth. The fabric has a distinct vertical wale that traps warmth and resists wrinkling through a full day of wear. The brown dye gives the deep ribbing a soft, lived-in depth.
