We cut these everyday trousers from a textured black corduroy that holds warmth in cooler weather. The silhouette bows outward through the leg and tapers slightly toward the ankle, shaped by horizontal knee panels. An elastic waist with an adjustable cord keeps the top block easy.

• Barrel leg shape. The leg curves out from the hip, widens across the mid-thigh, and pulls back in at the hem. Transverse knee patches give the bowed shape structure without adding stiffness across the front.
• Elastic drawstring waistband. The waistband uses a gathered elastic channel with an exterior pull cord. It sits high on the waist and stays put without pinching, letting the trousers hang loose below.
• Textured black corduroy. Vertical wales run through the black fabric to create a soft, ridged surface with body. The cloth is substantial enough for autumn and winter while retaining an easy drape.
• Side pockets and care. Two slanted pockets are set into the side seams deep enough for daily use. Wash in cold water with similar darks, avoid bleach, and hang dry or use a low dryer cycle.
