We cut these sweatpants with an outward curve through the outer seam to build a distinct barrel shape. The knit fleece has enough body to hold that volume without collapsing around the ankle. We finished the deep coffee brown base with contrasting plaid pockets set flat into the side seams.

• Barrel leg cut. The outer leg arcs out past the knee and pulls back slightly at the hem. It gives you room through the thigh and creates an architectural line that stays wide off the ground.
• Plaid pocket construction. We lined the deep side pockets in a contrasting plaid fabric. The pattern sits flush at the hip, giving the hands somewhere comfortable to rest while anchoring the darker coffee knit.
• Drawstring waistband. The elastic band gathers evenly along the waist and adjusts with a sturdy flat cord. It sits flat across the front and stays in place without pinching through hours of wear.
• Care and wash. Wash in cold water with similar dark tones to protect the deep coffee dye. Line dry or tumble on low heat to keep the knit fleece dense and preserve the leg shape.
