We cut these sweatpants with a curved barrel leg that bows out through the thigh and calf before settling at the hem. The cotton-blend knit holds its shape without feeling stiff. An adjustable drawstring over an elastic band anchors the rise exactly where you want it.

• Barrel leg shape. The outer seam curves outward through the mid-leg to build volume away from the knee, then falls straight down to an open hem. It keeps the weight of the knit moving freely around your ankles.
• Drawstring waistband. We set a wide elastic casing at the waist and threaded it with a flat pull cord. You can knot it high on the ribs or drop it lower across the hips without losing the hold.
