A barrel cut gives sweatpants structure without adding tightness around the knees. We cut these in a midweight cotton-blend fleece, anchored by a wide elastic waistband with a functional drawcord. The volume curves out through the thigh and calf, then straightens down toward a clean open hem. Deep side pockets keep your essentials close.

• Curved barrel leg. The leg bows outward from the hip down through the knee, then tapers slightly into a wide straight hem. It leaves ample room around the thighs and calves without pooling fabric on the floor.
• Elastic waist and tie. We built the waistband around wide, non-rolling elastic and threaded a dyed cotton cord through the center. You can cinch it high on the waist or let it sit loosely across the hips.
• Cotton blend fleece. The knit is smooth on the outside with a soft brushed back that traps warmth on cooler mornings. It holds the rounded shape of the leg while remaining light enough for indoor lounging.
• Wash and care. Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle or by hand to preserve the brushed fleece interior. Skip the bleach and hang the pants to dry so the waistband retains its elasticity.
