We cut these sweatpants with a wide barrel leg that bows out below the hip and tapers slightly toward the ankle. Inside, brushed fleece adds warmth for colder weather without stiffening the drape. The waist stays anchored with a gathered elastic channel and an adjustable drawcord.

• Barrel leg shape. The outer seam curves outward through the thigh and calf before pulling back in at the bottom. This keeps the volume off the ankles while leaving ample room through the leg.
• Fleece interior. A soft brushed backing sits against the skin to hold warmth through winter. The cotton blend face maintains a clean knit look on the outside.
• Elastic drawstring waist. We gathered the top edge into a wide elastic band with an integrated cord. You pull it tight or wear it low without the band rolling down.
• Deep side pockets. Two inset pockets sit along the side seams. We built them deep enough to hold a phone and keys without distorting the outer curve of the hip.
