We cut these barrel trousers from ribbed corduroy patterned with a small black and white polka dot. The waistband combines elastic stretch with a front button, leaving the hips and thighs loose before the shape tapers at the ankle. It is a sturdy, slouchy cut built for cooler weather.

• Barrel leg shape. The cut bows wide through the thighs and curves back in toward the cuffs. This keeps the fabric away from your legs as you walk, holding its rounded silhouette without dragging along the ground.
• Ribbed dot corduroy. We chose a midweight corduroy with soft ridges that hold warmth. The black and white dot pattern is printed directly into the pile, giving the textured ribs a vintage look that softens with regular wear.
• Elastic waist and button. The waistband stretches across the back for ease and fastens with a front button closure. It sits comfortably at the natural waist without pinching or binding when you sit down for long stretches.
• Deep side pockets. Two open pockets sit directly in the side seams. We stitched them deep enough to hold a phone or small wallet securely without pulling the outer lines of the barrel cut out of place.
