We cut this pair with extra room through the leg that swells outward around the knee and calf before narrowing at the ankle. A wide elastic waistband with a matching drawstring keeps the high rise anchored without pinching. The ribbed corduroy holds enough structure to define the curved silhouette while remaining soft for daily wear.

• Barrel leg cut. The outseam arcs out past the knee to create wide volume through the middle of the leg, then tucks back in at the hem. It holds an architectural curve that stays away from the skin.
• Drawstring waistband. We set a wide band of elastic at the high waist and ran a flat cord through the front. It pulls tight when you need it to and gives way when you sit.
• Ribbed corduroy. The black fabric is woven with parallel wales that trap warmth in cool weather. It has a dry, soft hand and enough weight to keep the curved seams rounded out.
• Care and wash. Wash cold on a gentle cycle to keep the corduroy wales from crushing down in the drum. Line dry or tumble on low heat, and iron inside out if the ribs need smoothing.
