We cut these trousers with an outward sweep through the calf that draws back in slightly at the ankle. The corduroy ribs give the wide profile structure without adding stiff weight. An elastic waist with a woven cord keeps the rise easy through the middle.

• Barrel leg cut. The curve starts below the hip, widens past the knee, and tapers before the foot. This shape keeps the hem off the ground while letting the heavy ribs of the corduroy hold their line.
• Drawstring waistband. A broad elastic casing sits high on the waist and adjusts with a pull cord. It rests flat without digging when you sit, bend, or walk.
