We cut these sweatpants with a high elastic waist and a curved barrel leg that bows out before tapering back in. The navy cotton-blend knit has good weight for cooler days. Double athletic stripes run down each outseam.

Barrel leg cut. The outseams curve outward through the thigh and knee to give the leg a rounded volume. Fabric hangs loose through the middle without dragging at the shoes.
Waist and drawcord. A wide elastic band sits high on the waist to hold the heavy knit in place. The flat drawcord lets you cinch the top tight without bunching the side seams.
Adjustable hem ties. Drawstrings set inside the ankle hems let you change the silhouette. Leave them open for a wide drape over sneakers or pull them tight to gather the cuff.
Cotton blend fleece. The knit is smooth on the face and soft against the skin inside. Wash on a cold cycle and dry flat or tumble on low heat to keep the fleece plush.
