We cut these sweatpants with a wide barrel curve that arches out through the thigh and pulls back in at the ankle. Double side stripes run down the black cotton-blend knit to give the baggy silhouette a clean vertical line. The elastic waist stays put while drawstrings at the hem let you alter the taper.

• Barrel leg cut. The leg curves outward along the outer seam and tapers slightly toward the base. This gives the heavyweight knit plenty of room to drape without pooling under your shoes.
• Adjustable hem ties. Drawstrings threaded through the ankle hems let you wear the leg open and wide or cinched tight like a traditional jogger. The ties tuck inside to keep the line clean.
• Elastic drawstring waistband. A wide band of gathered elastic sits high on the natural waist. An integrated cotton cord knots at the front so you can set the tension once and leave it alone all day.
• Soft cotton knit. We use a brushed cotton-blend fleece that holds its structure through the wide leg while staying soft against the skin. Wash in cool water and dry flat to keep the black fleece dense.
