We cut these palazzo trousers with a generous leg that falls straight from the hip. The black corduroy has a fine rib that traps warmth for cold weather, balanced by an easy high rise. A wide smocked waistband pulls on without hardware and stays flat against the waist.

• Wide smocked waistband. The elastic band is smocked all the way around to distribute tension evenly. It sits high on the natural waist, stays put without digging in, and pulls on easily.
• Palazzo leg cut. We kept the leg wide from the upper thigh down to the hem. The corduroy cloth gives the volume enough weight to hang straight instead of clinging.
• Deep side pockets. Two inset pockets sit along the side seams. We stitched them deep enough to hold a phone without pulling at the waistline or breaking the line of the hip.
• Washing and care. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle or wash by hand. Lay the trousers flat in the shade to dry so the corduroy pile keeps its texture.
