We cut these sweatpants with a distinct outward bow through the outer seam, finished with contrast piping along the curve. The heavyweight knit holds that curved shape away from the leg instead of falling straight down. An elastic drawstring waist keeps the seat grounded.

• Barrel leg cut. The outer seam curves wide past the knee before pulling slightly back toward the bottom opening. Contrast piping traces that line and gives the heavy fleece its rounded profile.
• Drawstring waist. We built the top band with encased elastic and a cord you can cinch. It sits easily on the hips and keeps the volume of the wide legs in place as you walk.
