We cut these sweatpants with a relaxed barrel leg that arcs out through the thigh and settles toward the ankle. The outer cotton knit backs onto a brushed fleece interior for steady cold-weather warmth. An elastic waistband with an adjustable drawstring anchors the rise.

• Barrel leg shape. The silhouette curves outward from the hip through the knee, then tapers slightly toward an open, ungathered hem. This gives the heavyweight fleece room to move without pooling around your shoes.
• Drawstring waist. A broad elastic waistband sits flat across the midsection. We added an exterior drawstring cord through the channel so you can reset the fit as the knit relaxes with wear.
• Deep slant pockets. Two deep pockets sit along the forward side seams. They drop far enough down the hip to hold a phone or cold hands without tugging at the waistline.
