We cut these gaucho culottes wide through the calf and hem them high above the ankle. The knit fabric has plenty of stretch and a soft hand. An adjustable drawstring secures the elastic waist without pinching.

Wide cropped leg. The leg widens from the hip down to an open, calf-length hem. That loose profile lets air move while keeping the fabric clear of shoes.
Drawstring waistband. We set a flat drawstring into the elastic casing. You pull it tight to set your own tension, so the waist stays put when you move.
Side seam pockets. Deep pockets sit right along the side seams. They lie flat against the hip when empty and hold small items without pulling down the waistband.
Heather knit care. The medium gray knit blends pale and dark yarns for texture. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, then dry flat to keep the hem straight.
