We cut these cropped pants with a deep crossover front waistband that sits high without a rigid seam. The legs fall wide and loose down to a calf-length hem with side splits that let air move. A soft four-way stretch knit gives them weight and drape for warm days.

• Crossover waistband. A wide elastic band crosses in a low V at the front and sits flat across the high waist. It stays in place without pinching or folding over.
• Wide cropped leg. The cut stays roomy through the thigh and calf, ending well above the ankle. Short side splits at the hem give the fabric room to swing as you walk.
• Pocket construction. Two deep drop-in side pockets hold small items flat against the hip. We also tucked a hidden pocket inside the back waist for keys or cards.
