We cut these cropped sweatpants loose through the thigh and calf so fabric stays off the skin. The royal blue knit has plenty of stretch and recovers its shape after sitting. An elastic casing anchored by a flat cord sits on the mid waist without pinching.

• Waistband and cord. A gathered elastic channel sits flat across the middle waist. The dyed drawstring pulls the gather tighter or lets it expand when you sit down, holding firm without a metal fastener.
