We cut these cold-weather lounge pants with a broad barrel leg that curves out at the calf and settles loosely over shoes. The knit has a smooth outer face and a brushed fleece back that holds warmth indoors and outside. A simple elastic waistband keeps the rise settled without hardware.

• Curved barrel leg. The leg widens through the thigh and bows outward along the lower seam before tapering slightly at the bottom. This keeps the volume off the ankle while leaving plenty of room through the knee.
• Brushed fleece interior. We chose a dense cotton-poly knit with a soft fleece lining on the inside. The brushed back traps warm air against the legs, giving the trousers enough weight to fall straight without clinging.
• Elastic waist and pockets. An enclosed elastic band anchors the waist securely across the hips. Two deep side pockets sit along the forward seams, cut roomy enough to hold a phone, keys or cold hands without pulling the silhouette.
• Coffee brown and care. The rich coffee tone matches easily with heavy knitwear, hoodies and winter boots. Machine wash cold with similar shades and tumble dry on low heat or hang dry to keep the fleece backing soft.
