We cut these corduroy trousers with an open, rounded leg that curves outward at the mid-calf before tapering back toward the ankle. The high waistband pulls together with an elastic core and an adjustable flat drawstring. The ribbed fabric gives the dusty gray shade depth while holding warmth against cool air.

• Barrel leg shape. The pattern bows outward through the lower leg to build volume around the calf, then narrows cleanly at the hem. This curved cut lets the corduroy stand away from the skin instead of hanging flat.
• Drawstring waist. We built the high rise around a gathered elastic band threaded with a working drawstring. You pull the cord to set your own tension, so the waistband stays put without pinching while you sit.
• Ribbed corduroy fabric. A lightweight corduroy gives the trousers soft texture and structure. The fine parallel ribs catch light across the dusty gray wash, holding enough body to support the curved shape of the leg.
